This works well and makes it easy to check to see that the proper inflation is in the tires. -- Excellent for my motorcycle
This gauge is similar to other Accutire types. I bought it to fit in the very tight space between the alloy spokes of my 2010 Harley Road King's front wheel (H-D really made this hard to do). Even the head on this gauge is not quite thin enough, but will do the job and was the thinnest I could find. The only negative thing is that the valve stem sealing surface of this gauge is not very good, so I have to press down VERY firmly to get a good enough seal to get a good pressure reading. It took many tries to finally be able to get consistant readings, losing much air in the process. This will be a challenge for awhile every time I use it.
If I could find a digital gauge with an even thinner head, I'd probably try it. This one works, but be ready to use a firm hand. -- Have a Firm Hand
I used this gauge for years, until I lost it, and it worked fine. Like most newer gauges, the application to the stem is a bit fussy, but acceptable, and it gets in where others don't. When I replaced the lost gauge I got the talking model from Road Gear and it's worth the extra price. I got a gift talking gauge for my car, and it seemed like a stupid gimmick. But on a bike you often have the gauge in a position where you can't see it, so you have to pull it off to read it, then get it back on just straight for the next try. With the talker (which announces in half-pound increments) you can bleed down to your target without looking. No backlight needed, either. If you don't need that, the MS-4710B is a winner. -- A good gauge, but look for the talking one
